Case study – KID-A + BALANCE®
Kid-A + Balance: building a better model
Kid-A believes that leadership in telecommunications means more than providing expert consultancy. It means taking responsibility for its own impact, its supply chain and the role the industry can play in restoring nature.
As the first company in its sector to achieve B Corp status, Kid-A has built its business around a Kaizen philosophy: the constant pursuit of being better for people and planet. But the team were initially sceptical of the carbon market, seeing it as a complex system where climate claims can create reputational risk, even when approached with the best intentions.
What immediately struck Kid-A about Balance was its passion, expertise and peer-reviewed methodology. Rather than ignoring the flaws in the old system, Balance had effectively reworked it – retaining the one component that still matters: a clear route for directing capital to project developers.
The partnership also offered Kid-A a practical way to address one of the hardest challenges in sustainability: Scope 3. With around 95% of Kid-A’s impact sitting in Scope 3, Balance provided a way to act now, rather than waiting years for full supply chain change.
Working together, Kid-A and Balance have applied a three-pillared approach to address biodiversity loss, support local communities and remove carbon through long-term, high-integrity nature restoration.
